The Ensemblen is an impressive furniture and lighting collection which was borne out of a collaboration between three young Swedish designers – Helena Svensson, Karin Widmark and Josefin Hellström Olsson. These pieces were all inspired by musical instruments, where the designers pay their respects to the sentimental value of these objects, which have long lost their status in our homes. The collection consists of a sideboard, cabinet, floor & pendant lamp, table lamp and low table. Some of the materials used are molded birch ply, birch veneer, steel, black painted steel, glass and brass.

The Ensemblen recently debuted at the Stockholm Furniture Fair at The Greenhouse. The Greenhouse is a platform for independent designers, where Scandinavian design schools showed off what was considered the finest, and most well-made undergraduate work around.

I am so impressed with these pieces, especially knowing they are the work of such young designers. Beautiful concept and refined aesthetic meet flawless execution to create a perfect ‘ensemble’. Get it? I know, it’s bad. Sorry.
