My love of Maison Martin Margiela is reasonably well documented. Various initiatives of this cult Belgian fashion designer have graced the pages of Yellowtrace a number of times. So why stop now, right? Right.

Today I wanted to share with you my very latest find – MMM’s newest and largest boutique located at Sanlitun Village in Beijing. Not bad, huh? Even if this interior may be slightly “Googlesque corporate workplacey” with that completely-useless-and-unusable-yet-slightly-fabulous-and-highly-dramatic stainless steel slide in the top image. The store aesthetic beautifully extends the MMM brand and it’s signature edgy and understated style – there is a lot of white on white (on white) mixed with industrial lighting, concrete, stainless steel, and digitally printed wallpaper which merges the reality and trompe-l’oeil effect. Yes!
