The LA-based interior design brand Atelier de Troupe presents its atmospheric new collection of lighting and furniture, drawn from drifting tides and the long shadows of the solstice.

Dérive d’Été is an exploration of movement and coastal cool. Through a repeated ellipse motif and a material language by turns warm and rarefied — a single sheet of brass, spiralled steel, sandblasted glass — the collection evokes nostalgia for childhood summers spent between the rocks of Cassis and the beaches of St. Tropez.

Atelier de Troupe founder Gabriel Abraham’s background in the film industry informs his narrative approach to the design process. Reminiscent of the 70s, but firmly rooted in a contemporary design vernacular, the collection incites a dialogue between temporality and artifice.

New introductions include the Eclipse chair and tables, abstracted reveries made manifest in blackened steel with plush upholstery, and the Coquille sconce and Compas pendant light, elegantly ornamental fixtures shaped by fond memories of sandy enclaves strewn with conch shells and sea glass.

Developed by the studio team under the artistic direction of Abraham, each A de T piece is hand manufactured by local fabricators. This end-to-end process minimizes waste and allows for responsible sourcing and extensive customization.
