Barcelona-based artist, designer and photographer, Clara Nubiola took to pen and paper when her family suggested she built a small changing room and bathroom for the pond in her yard used as a swimming pool. A small existing shed, rusted and worn, used at one time to store nuts and tools, would become the new structure. Boarded up windows were opened, brick walls restored, stone collected from the adjacent countryside made up sections of the deteriorating foundation and some interior elements. Local bricks were used for internal partitions with built-in shelving for storage, blending in naturally with the existing exterior brick facade.

Inside, a renovated metal sliding barn door opens to the showering area. Lines of conduit and pipes swerve across walls and ceilings adding a playful touch. Casual, unapologetically un-designed and incredibly charming, don’t you think?
