One of the most annoying aspects of blogging are all the press releases I receive daily. Most of them shit me to tears as they are:
a) completely irrelevant to yellowtrace content and a huge waste of my time
b) written really badly
c) generic and impersonal
d) pretend to be personal or personable, but are in fact completely fake and forced (which pisses me off even more than the previous point)

But every once in a blue moon something lovely will come through which (almost) makes all the shitty press releases worth it. I said ALMOST. Anyway, here is a round up of some of the things I received in the last few weeks which I wanted to share with you in hope you will find them useful and interesting.

Space Furniture welcomed an American lighting brand Roll & Hill and an Italian furniture and accessories brand Opinion Ciatti to Australia. This is very exciting news as far as I am concerned, especially about Roll & Hill lighting. Ten points if you recall that I blogged about Roll & Hill in my Milan 2011 review right here. Extreme love!

Bandy stool and side tables from Jardan are inspired by the abstract silhouette of hand-crafted ceramics. Made to order in solid American oak or feature-grade Australian hardwood.

Kush by Ivan Woods for Schiavello. A playful collection of tailored, oversized floor cushions with moveable backrest bolsters and a range of loose cushions were inspired by the opulence of Moroccan floor cushions. Available in range of sizes in both fabric and leather.

Since 1920s, Ercol has been England’s answer to Scandinavian furniture. For a while now they’ve been reissuing some of their classic fifties pieces as shown here, although their classic collection is just as beautiful. Coming to Australia from November courtesy of Temerature Design. Pretty exciting!

Lovely textiles from Funky Wombat, established by Melbourne based textile designer Tamara Schneider in 2010 after she returned from an internship with Timorous Beasties in the UK. I am particularly fond of ‘African Dreaming’ digital print shown on the stool in top right image.

‘Deconstructed Rose’ by Maharam, a traditional floral needlepoint transformed through a modern, pixilated scale. I blogged about this textile in my recent Saturday in Design roundup, but I wanted to share the rest of the available colourways. Stunning or what?

Great news re Ercol furniture and loving the Funky Wombat too. Nice work putting this together – and thank you for wading through all the crap you receive to find it!

Tell me about it. I ask people, and how do you think we should work together and they have no idea, they just want free press but don’t care where it goes. Frustrating
