When it comes to super beautiful workplace interiors, it seriously doesn’t get much better than this. This is the sort of project that makes me get all hot and sweaty under my lady collar, with seriously impure thoughts running through my brain… Like me prancing around the place saying – yep, that’s right, I designed this interior… so whatcha gonna do about it, punk? You know the feeling? Good.

For the past 8 years, Random Studio have been based out of their Managing Director’s old apartment. After taking on 8 new staff in less than 12 months, it became obvious they needed a new space. The new location was chosen, measuring 475m2 of space. They enlisted the help of Amsterdam based X+L Studio, who were an obvious choice to design the new space that felt like ‘home’. The brief called for a creative workplace that was open but felt intimate; an environment that would invite creativity and stimulate the sharing of knowledge and inspiration.

It was important for the space to remain visually beautiful, without feeling too ‘designed’. For this reason X+L Studio focused on simple concepts they knew would fit their client’s persona. They filled the interior with lush green plants – pockets of mini gardens and huge textile bags hanging from the ceiling filled with greenery. The mirrors, high ceilings and skylights make the most of the natural light.

The first thing visitors notice when walking in is the cafeteria where lunch is cooked and served daily. The couches and individually selected small wooden tables make the perfect setting for talking and sharing ideas. The rest of the space is expansive, with plenty or room around desks. The walls are covered with artwork and the abundance of plants instills the feeling of calmness. The office space also contains a sound studio, large meeting room, exhibition space and a garden complete with shipping container that hosts interactive installation workshops.
