Merve Kahraman Abide Round Green Marble Side Table Product Design Yellowtrace 05

Based between New York and Istanbul, industrial and interior designer Merve Kahraman’s Abide marble side tables are the modern interpretation of the iconic evil eye symbol.

A widespread cultural idea, the Evil Eye is a superstitious legend thought to be cast by a malicious glare to a person at a time when they are unaware. The safeguard from such malice is a talisman consisting of an eponymous shield from the peering evil eyes, offering spiritual protection.

Kahraman’s side tables are crafted from colourful marble in unusual shapes, combined with Alexander Girard-inspired checkered fabrics used to wrap the table legs.
