Montreal-based design studio Lambert & Fils have launched the Parc lighting collection, born from a collaboration with Swiss designer Adrien Rovero. Inspired by childhood imagination and simplicity of homemade forms, each of the six models evokes the archetype of a flashlight. The collection comprises a wall lamp, pendant lamp, floor lamp, and table lamp offered in eight different colours.

A playful reminder of time spent in nature, the lamps reference occasions when a simple tube and piece of string could be used to fashion any number of objects. Such makeshift creations, at once naive and functional, harness the humility of stripping an object back to its essence. Featuring single and multi-headed suspension lights, table lamps and floor models, the Parc fuses the clean lines of powder-coated aluminium with the elegance of hand-blown milk glass. The simple forms can be transformed into statement pieces with colour options such as textured burgundy, royal blue, and terracotta.

For the suspension models, the lamp appears to float as if by magic, with a supporting aircraft cable allowing the fabric cord to form undulating waves in the air. Whether suspended or on a surface, each of the six lamps offers diverging tunnels of light as one singular form. Harking back to camping and flashlight inspirations, the designers sought to evoke an entanglement of branches, or a constellation of stars.

Swiss designer Adrien Rovero specializes in furniture, lighting and exhibition design. His inventive works are based on observations of his surroundings and assemblage, repurposing, and exploring shapes and materials. Rovero’s work has been collected by The Centre Georges Pompidou (Paris), the Grand-Hornu Images (Belgium) and The Mudac (Lausanne).

Founded by Samuel Lambert, Lambert & Fils is known for poetic handmade lighting, centred around preserving the bond between design and making. All pieces are conceived, designed and hand-assembled in their studio space. Bringing together more than 50 creatives of varying backgrounds, the studio has defined itself as one of Canada’s most energized hubs for collaborative design.
