Heather Hansen is a fine artist based in New Orleans and Paris. She creates breathtaking oversized charcoal paintings titled Emptied Gestures – a stunning combination of visual art and dance. “Emptied Gestures is an experiment in kinetic drawing. In this series I am exploring ways to download my movement directly onto paper, emptying gestures from one form to another.”

Filmed at my studio in the Bywater, New Orleans, July 2013.

Documented and edited by Photographer / Director Bryan Tarnowski.
Music provided by Nick Principe of Port St. Willow.
