Located in Seville in Spain, ‘El Pintón’ is a restaurant designed by Lucas y Hernández-Gil Arquitectos with the aim of fostering a link between the strong presence of the traditional architecture and a fresh and contemporary approach to the typical Sevillian courtyard. Mouldings and casts added in previous interventions were eliminated so that the original raw textures could be appreciated. These were then finished with lime mortar.

Different spaces were unified with a timber floors and ceilings. Spaces were primarily “decorated” via the use of materials, textures and light. The courtyard sits at the heart of the restaurant, articulating the rest of the spaces and acting as a diffuser of character between the interior and the exterior. Here, the designers have payed up the “outdoor theme”, enhancing this space with some vegetation, garden furniture, wreaths, lanterns and a camouflage fabric used for shading.

Furniture is a combination of bespoke pieces designed by Lucas y Hernández-Gil using metal and timber. Some of the other brands used in the restaurant are by the brands such as Magis, Fermob and Driade. Equally, lighting is a mix of bespoke handcrafted designs and lamps from Marset and &Tradition.
