Pretty much anything that doesn’t reveal the entire truth about a subject at a first glance is my kind of thing. Works with depth, multiple layers, hidden truths and visual wit. Just like this work by John Stezaker who combines old photographs of people with postcards. In doing so, Stezaker gives both the photograph and the postcard an entirely new meaning. Seriously cool-town!
If you are in London (you lucky sausage), his works are currently on show at Whitechapel Gallery until 18th March (2011).
Ok, go there! And let me know what it was like, k?

I love it! My favourite is the couple staring at each other, yet with the addition of the postcard they are separated with a chasm – awesome image of a couple in conflict!
Crap I want a new profile pic now but I still haven’t got over how cool these look: http://yellowtrace.com.au/blog/2011/02/10/design-free-thursday-faces/
