Design Free Thursday // Body Art by Olaf Breuning.

In this colour-study body art series, eclectic Swiss artist Olaf Breuning investigates the possibility of using the human form as a canvas. Red, blue, yellow and green are used against inky black background creating a super striking effect. Even though this is not the first time you’re seeing painted people on yellowtrace, I was quite intrigued with the way Breuning references famous artists such as Jackson Pollock, Jasper Johns, and particularly Andy Warhol’s famous Marylin Diptych series. (The artists fascination with Warhol is quite evident from the bizarre opening image on his website).

Love it or hate it, I find this work witty, intriguing and full of personality. What do you think?
