Wowee! This is a pretty gutsy and flamboyant example of a residential interior. Located in Berlin, this 400sqm penthouse was designed by LecaroliMited, architectural office founded in 2005 by Oskar Kohnen and Fabian Freytag.

It is great to see an apartment interior which is unafraid to push the conventional aesthetic, but at the same time has the potential to remain slick, simple and beautiful. I say ‘has the potential’ because I am yet to see how this space will actually be furnished and ‘finished’. I love the use of ‘bling’ mirror joinery elements which create an illusion of greater open spaces and amplified natural light. Fantastic architectural bones, but I need to see a bit more ‘juice’. Also, I really wish this space had lighter timber floors – limed to the point of being almost white, or completely white painted even… Or perhaps glossy resin seamless floor (which is a nightmare to maintain, but looks awesome). Anyway… What do you think?

I guess from now on all their Christmas presents will be bottles of Windex?

Seriously, though, this is a very uber-cool pad. Can imagine some fabulous parties with beautifully attired guests, preferably sparkly to match the gorgeousness. Also have a soft spot for orange velvet – and teamed with pale turquoise…mmmm…hyped up deliciousness!
