• Hotel Lautner // Desert Hot Springs, California.

Situated in the middle of the Californian desert, Hotel Lautner is a recent conversion of a striking mid-centrury residence designed by an influential modernist architect, John Lautner. Originally created as a home for a film producer, this 1947 icon later served as a motel before it fell into poor condition due to neglect. Luckily, the structure was recently restored by interior designer Tracy Beckmann and furniture designer Ryan Trowbridge.

If the story of architecture alone wasn’t enough to rekindle your midcentury love affair, perhaps the list of “who’s who” in midcentury furniture design might tip you over the edge. Tracy and Ryan furnished each of the units in vintage midcentury pieces by Warren Platner, Harry Bertoia, Sigurd Resell to name just a few. Ummmm… that’s crazy style cool overload!
