Where We Work: Creative Office Spaces | Book Review & GIVEAWAY!
29th October
I was very lucky to win a copy of the Where We Work: Creative Office Spaces book a few weeks ago via Twitter. I know, how awesome is that! I think by now you all must realise that Twitter is something you definitely need to start getting into, if you haven’t already. Great things await you there, you just need to “work it out” for yourself – promise. But back to the book. I was so excited when my copy arrived courtesy of Ian McCallam, who is the creator of This Ain’t No Disco (It’s Where We Work)…

If you played with Lego growing up, you will love this little video by Studiocanoe. Actually, you’ll love it even if you didn’t play with Lego when you were a kid – cause I certainly didn’t (Lego wasn’t all that popular “in the old country” cause we were too busy playing civil war. Oh sorry, is that a bit insensitive? Probably. But whatever, I’m over it now.)
There is a child like and slightly “wonky” quality to this video that really appeals to me. It captured my imagination and made me feel like a kid while I was watching it…
Copan Apartment, Brazil | Plus a Little Rant About the Importance of Good Photography.
27th October
I spotted this smoking hot apartment on Arch Daily a couple of weeks ago, and it left me feeling a bunch of mixed emotions. In fact, this happens quite a bit when I’m searching the web for all the coolest stuff to share with you guys – I’ll often come across an interior that rocks hard, but is captured so poorly on camera. This always leaves me feeling seriously sad and disappointed. Why? Because I know so well how difficult it is to create an amazing interior – it takes an enormous amount of work, planning, creativity, collaboration with your client, your team as well as contractors, consultants and suppliers, not to mention the years of training and experience that give you an opportunity to deliver a project in the first place…
Painted People | Alexa Meade.
26th October
Well I’ll be dipped in shit and rolled in bread crumbs! This is seriously one of the coolest things I’ve seen in ages.
These artworks are by Alexa Meade, a 23-year-old artist based in Washington DC, whose work is a combination of installation, painting, performance, photography and video art. Instead of painting on flat canvas, Alexa paints her image directly on people (!!) and other three-dimensional subjects.
This seriously blows my mind…
The Waterhouse Hotel by NHDRO | Shanghai, China.
25th October
Sometimes I wish I could clone myself so that I can blog about multiple things at once. I saw this hotel a couple of months ago, and it’s been sitting on my ever growing “must blog about this” list ever since. Argh! I never seem to be able to get on top of my many lists these days. Anyway, as you may have noticed, I try not to blog about stuff that’s been blogged to death elsewhere, but I make an exception every once in a while if the subject is exceptional. See where I’m going with this? So please excuse my “lateness” and if I’m about to bore you with an interior you’ve already seen a million times.
The Waterhouse in South Bund is a drop-dead gorgeous boutique hotel situated on the banks of the Shanghai’s Huangpu River…
