Personalised skincare brand Script has a new retail space in Melbourne’s South Yarra designed by Hecker Guthrie. Founded by dermatologists, the offering is defined by ideas of encounter and science, uniquely encapsulated in a futuristic yet human approach.

Hecker Guthrie crafted a progressive and intuitive series of spaces in order to take customers through their own inimitable journey in the store. Terrazzo countertops cater respectively to creating insight and intrigue, product education, and progressive treatment and solutions. The counters act as tactile touch points whereby customers are encouraged to engage with materials, surfaces, and product.

Deliberately playful elements are layered in amongst the rigid structure of the countertops, primarily by way of luminous blue surfaces and objects. Hecker Gurhtire chose blue to reference honesty through raw and transparent finishes. Blue and white terrazzo flooring serve as guiding pathways throughout the space, while the use of ribbed marblo blocks act as heightened sculptural elements.

Refined stainless steel panels create a sense of continuity throughout the Script store interior. The brand offers a unique and dynamic retail journey, provoking a sense of discovery in customers as they make their way through a series of interconnected rooms. The store at once embraces technology and expresses simplicity and purity through a restrained aesthetic, a reflection of the pillars around which the brand has built itself.

Blue terazzo with white grout goes against the very idea of the material.
