With SensiTerre, the latest chapter in their long-running collaboration, that idea finds its most tactile expression yet.

The collection grows out of the Sensi family Yellowtrace first covered w few years back, but its real origin story is lovelier. SensiTerre marks the tenth anniversary of “Venere Bianca”, the limited-edition terracotta vases Thun designed with Benedetto Fasciana and Bitossi. Those handcrafted vessels, all archetypal shapes and Renaissance-workshop markings, become the surface’s emotional reference point, a tribute to craft rendered permanent in porcelain.

"Sensi of Casa dolce casa" Collection by Matteo Thun for Florim Ceramiche.

Large ceramic surfaces that tell an ancient story made up of earth blended together and light mineral elements forged over time. This is what inspired the “Sensi of Casa dolce casa” tile collection.

What Florim has done is translate that artisanal language into porcelain at architectural scale, a dialogue between true handmade craftsmanship and the new frontiers of Industry 4.0. Six earthy colours, Cotone, Sabbia, Rosato, Mattone, Amaranto and Carbone, read as neutral and intense at once, dusty and vibrant, drawn straight from the memory of worked clay.

Four finishes do the heavy lifting: Naturale keeps the raw matte materiality of clay, while Grana nods to cocciopesto, the crushed-brick mortar the Ancient Romans used for waterproofing. Rigatino and Cannettato replicate the combing and engraving marks of the original vases, the tactile detail you want to run your fingers across.
