In Dubai’s verdant Al Barari neighbourhood, Bone Studio has designed a 150-square-metre apartment that seamlessly blends with the lush landscape surrounding it. This renovation couples mid-century influences and contemporary design to create spaces that enhance daily life. The original one-bedroom layout has been reconfigured to accommodate two bedrooms and two full bathrooms without sacrificing the sense of openness that makes this home feel so welcoming. The key move was introducing a raised circulation path that connects the entrance to the master suite, creating subtle topography within the apartment that defines spaces without enclosing them. All Eyes Up: An Apartment in Poznan by Paradowski Studio. This eclectic apartment in Poznań by Paradowski Studio is a pell-mell of design styles, that expertly tames a five-metre ceiling. Rather than tucking the kitchen away, Bone positioned it as the heart of the home, flanking it with dining and living areas. The kitchen now acts as the central hub for daily rituals and entertaining. A handcrafted spinal joinery cabinet is the backbone of this open layout, providing storage and display while allowing spaces to flow naturally into one another. The addition of a lilac-toned curtain that slides along its length brings both flexibility and a touch of unexpected colour. The material palette shows real restraint and intention. Tactile lime-based stucco envelopes walls and ceilings, offering warmth and acoustic comfort, while handmade glazed green tiles add depth and vibrancy where they’re needed most. Kvadrat curtains in coral, green, and lilac tones introduce softness and chromatic rhythm throughout the space. The choice of rich, nut-toned timber and cork flooring grounds everything in natural tones, with cork extending into the bedrooms to enhance the sense of calm.Brutality Meets Poetry: A Carlo Scarpa-Inspired Parisian Apartment.Just steps from Rue Montorgueil, a compact 50m² apartment deftly navigates raw materiality and poetic restraint. The bathrooms showcase Bone’s confidence with material contrasts that borrow from their extensive experience in hospitality interiors—stainless steel cladding for the custom shower-bathtub enclosure plays beautifully against soft-hued Portuguese stone, creating sculptural moments that feel both functional and considered. The Al Barari apartment reflects a mature approach to residential design, where contrasts between rough and smooth, matte and glazed, opaque and translucent create layered experiences that engage the senses. It’s the kind of home that evolves with its inhabitants while maintaining its essential character.Natural and Raw: Erth Restaurant in Abu Dhabi by Bone. With a wealth of architectural and cultural significance at their fingertips, Bone reinterpret conventional restaurant typology into one that accommodates the dynamic nature of Emirati cuisine.
