Arent&Pyke are kicking zoom calls to the curb with Vida Glow, inner beauty wellness brand’s new Sydney office. While the sweatpants may be back in the closet, the studio took inspiration from our long “year of rest and relaxation” to infuse the interior with the warm radiance of home. Here, the Sydney studio’s signature use of colour gets the workout it deserves.

Introduced by Melbourne branding agency Studio Ongarato, Arent&Pyke looked to balance the emblematic Vida Glow tones with more colour, taking guidance from the natural marine ingredients that embody the label.

“This was a butterfly moment for Vida Glow,” explains Sarah-Jane Pyke. “They are a young brand, and they had quickly outgrown their former office. Their loyal customer base was expanding rapidly and they were ready to conquer new international markets. So, we were very excited to help shape this significant milestone for the company, and we understood that the office design had to embody this moment of transformation.”

In the kitchen, an oceanic blue monolithic island bench interplays with an eclectic mix of dining chairs and stools positioned around a rendered concrete table by Tigmi Trading. The lightweight combination naturally engages the team to swap ideas and congregate. “It draws on the warm comfort of sitting down for a communal meal, despite the fact you’re in the office having meetings with clients or colleagues. Ultimately a great office shares so much with a private residence,” elaborates Pyke.

Designated breakout spaces are donned in Gold, Ink and Plum, while the meeting rooms get a dose of nature with Heather, Dried Lavender and Sage references—accentuated by a clean black lineage. This high dose of colour is interspersed with moments of transparency and organic materiality, paying homage to the brand’s wellness ethos.

Then there’s the Collagen bar where Arent&Pyke developed a signature visual moment with a chiselled Parsley Green marble island branded with brass lettering. Marine Collagen boxes float on brass shelves, presenting in a sculptural and striking way that re-centres the interior in line with its high beauty and fashion aesthetic.

“We made a conscious decision to showcase Australian designed and manufactured furniture as much as possible,” explains Pyke. “The workstations are custom by NAU and throughout the kitchen and meeting rooms we used a number of pieces by Design By Them including their recycled plastic Confetti Stools.”

The art plays a defining role throughout the interior. Sourced from Art Bank collections, the design team sure know a good piece when they see it, choosing works by Claire Healy and Sean Cordeiro to sit within the boardroom that was once hanging in Arent&Pyke’s old office in Potts Point. In this way, things have come full circle for the studio.

A collision of old and new has found a home within the Vida Glow HQ, with Arent&Pyke delivering a sense of timelessness with a touch of the unusual and much soul, thanks to a delightful array of colours and textures. Looks like workplace culture is here to stay, and it feels better than ever.
