    Dearest Yellowtracers,

Can you believe we’ve almost reached the end of another amazing year together? What more could I possibly say that I haven’t already? You know I totally love you guys, right? By now it should be bleeding obvious. I heard a little saying the other day which made me laugh and I wanted to share it with you guys.

Life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.”

Ain’t that the truth? This getting-older thing is totally cool except for this increasing lack-of-time business. So this is yet another reason I treasure the time you take out of your day to tune into Yellowtrace, and share a moment with me and the rest of our awesome team.

As you’ve probably figured, this is the last regular post for the year. In line with our annual tradition (see 20102011 and 2012) we will continue to bring you roundups of various categories covered on Yellowtrace, and give you the chance to catch up on 2013 and all the extremely awesome things we’ve talked about. I realise this might come across as pig headed but I mean it in the humblest possible way – I’m still passionately in love with this online space after all these years, and can’t help but feel just a little bit proud of what we’ve created here. So please forgive my little self indulgent moment, k?

The roundup posts will run daily from 23rd December through to 10th January (except for public holidays). We will be back on deck and resume our regular posting from Monday 13th January.

I wanted to leave you with a few amazing images by Slim Aarons, a legendary American photographer born in Manhattan in 1916 as George Allen Aarons. Aarons’s mantra was – get this - ”Attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places”. Classic slash hilarious. Aarons was an Army photographer in World War II, and he claimed combat taught him that the only beach worth landing on was ”…decorated with beautiful, seminude girls tanning in a tranquil sun.”  Brilliant. He made a career out of photographing beautiful people, traveling the world to capture the essence of the rich and famous, before his passing in 2006 at the age of 89. Even though most of these images were taken from the 40s through to the 80s, they are a living proof that true style (and a lot of money) never goes out of fashion – ha!

On that note, I wish you a delicious Holiday Season, and may all your dreams come true in the New Year. I’m jumping out of my skin at the thought of 2014 – partly because I’m freaking out, but mostly because I’m wildly exited. I sincerely look forward to sharing more amazingness with you next year. But first it’s time for a little break…

    Love always,
    Mama Yellowtrace xx
