Is it sad that I get soooo friggin’ excited about extremely hot workplace interiors? Please don’t answer that! No but seriously – I am such a hot-for-beautiful-workplace tragic it’s not funny. As much as I love seeing and featuring gorgeous homes, bars, restaurants, shops, hotels and so on, I feel that much more excited about off-the-richter smoking-hot workplace design. I know – tragic.com. Maybe that’s because I still so rarely get to see a true gem like this one.

Alas, even if offices aren’t your thing, you cannot possibly tell me this is not one seriously beautiful, beautiful, beautiful studio space. Can you now? Exactly. Cause it’s completely ridiculously awesome. And true beauty and general shit-hotness knows no bounds. And you know it. Baby.

Before it’s conversion by Munich design agency Designliga, Halle A was a metal workshop for a utilities company Stadtwerke München. The hall is part of the Heizkraftwerk Süd CHP plant complex, located to the south of the River Isar. Today, the studio is shared by Designliga and web company Form & Code.

The designers made a considerable effort to preserve the original character of the hall – the atmosphere of the new studio builds on the industrial atmosphere of the space, with exterior features referenced throughout the interior. The colour palette is based on the materials and textures prevalent in the complex, whilst the exposed bricks throughout the space have been left untouched.

The vast volume of the 10.4m-high hall has been broken up into distinct areas, providing an intimate feel to the large interior. A pair of ridge-roof buildings contain two floors of offices, with top floor housing the two conference and meeting rooms in the old foreman’s office. The kitchen was designed as a private room for staff, while the library is where visitors are received and spontaneous meetings are held.

Please save me a couple of desks guys. Yellowtrace HQ is moving to Munich. Too good!
