• Vince Contarino.

    31st August

I am seriously in love with these beautiful paintings by Brooklyn based artist Vince Contarino. Vince somehow manages to make the abstract appear more tangible through his use of geometry, proportion and delicious colours. I really loved seeing the way he approaches each painting by first drawing it with graphite on paper – see below…

RGB – The Black Series by Carnovsky | JaguarShoes Collective, London.

    30th August

Shut the front door! How extremely awesome is this? It’s the mother of all awesome. Concentration of pure genius. Man, I want to swear so bad right now to express the intensity of my feelings, but I am desperate to keep it clean as much as possible (even though it’s killing me).

Ok, so what is this I hear you say? It is the work of Milan based artist/designer duo called Carnovsky (aka Francesco Rugi and Silvia Quintanilla). These guys create surfaces that “mutate and interact with different chromatic stimulus”. What? Let’s break it down…

    Stand Under a Light!

    29th August

Yo, yo, yo! How was your weekend? What did you do? Did you stand under a lamp or a pendant light? No? Really? Why not? Seriously – guys – you need to get with the program. All the cool kids are doing it these days. Now go find a light to stand under…

Upstairs Beresford, Sydney | Kerry Phelan Design Office.

    26th August

Designed by Melbourne based Kerry Phelan Design Office in collaboration with Sydney super stylist Sibella Court, this interior looked to venues in London and NYC for inspiration. K.P.D.O were keen to retain the laid back feeling of the existing pub downstairs, but since the the new venue was going to be attracting international acts, the ideas was to glam things up a little. And that they did! The main challenge was to make the venue look undesigned, almost as if each room was conceived by a different person at a different time. K.P.D.O wanted the spaces to appear as if they’d evolved …

Design Free Thursday | Zombie Attack Engagement Photos.

    25th August

I must admit that I’m not big on the whole “engagement photo” thing. Not sure why – perhaps because they are often cheesier than Fabio’s hair. But these images take the concept of engagement photos to a whole new level! They are in equal parts adorable, silly, clever, ghay, imaginative and friggin’ hilarious.

    Extreme love.
