Silke Baltruschat is a Hamburg-based graphic designer and illustrator with a real knack for transforming ordinary things into something entirely different. I recently came across her Handarbeiten series – which according to Google Translate means” handicrafts”, so I’m going to roll with it.Baltruschat has transformed vintage posters from the 70’s Schulmädchen-report (German sex-education film, ah those Germans…) and embroidered them with black cotton thread to resemble body hairs. Awkward and wrong, but seriously funny. Or is that just me?
