    Stockholm Furniture Fair 2014 // Top 10.

    The world’s largest meeting place for Scandinavian design – Stockholm Furniture Fair 2014 took place between 3rd and 9th February, marking the end of the third major design event on the world design calendar. Here is a selection of Top 10 products that caught our eye this year.

    Stockholm-based Scotsman David “Superdave” Taylor is a true contemporary artisan who incorporates elements of design, art and metal craft in his work. Taylor cleverly combines post-industrial waste with precious metal, DIY components and other materials, and creates unique and extraordinary objects such as candle holders, dishes, lamps and mirrors. In his recent body of work, Taylor created a series of candlesticks with human characteristic, with each piece bearing it’s own name…



    Beautiful Fashion Retail Interiors by Arrhov Frick // Sweden.

    Dagmar by Guise: Stockholm Retail Space Constructed from Triangles.

    Stockholm-based firm Guise have designed a new retail space for a young Swedish fashion brand House of Dagmar, housed within the amazing Stockholm department store Nordiska Kompaniet. The client brief was to invent a hybrid spatial language between Swedish design and Art Deco – an era from which the brand’s style is derived.     It seems that lovely little extruded houses abound these days. Of late we’ve seen a pared-back postmodern fruitiness combined with lean and linear plans. Familiar vernacular forms sieved through a tight net of disciplined design. Today we’re in Sweden, to look at a superior example of this type, and what could well be my fantasy weekender.
