Design Free Thursday // Lionel Ritchie.
20th September
I have a confession to make – I love Lionel Ritchie. As cheesy at it might be, his music makes me super happy. With so many chart topping hits and that awesome head of hair, Lionel Ritchie has become a bit of a symbol of cultural kitsch. I’ve noticed all manner of things popping up around the internet inspired by his mega-hit Hello…
Very Visual Vases // Design Trend.
3rd September
I remember a time when all vases used to look the same. Or pretty similar at least. You could almost predict their shape. This is hardly a new trend – brass made a huge come back some time ago in the world of architecture, interiors, fashion and product design, gently shoving it’s previously celebrated silvery and coppery friends aside. It turns out that the time has come for the golden sheen to enjoy it’s well deserved 5 minutes in the sun.
I must admit, I was never really a big fan of gold for the longest time (I know, we all make mistakes), but my palettes these days are all about hints of this lovely shiny shade. Perhaps this is because we are collectively getting much better at using golds and mixing them with nudes, greys, charcoals and navy, to ensure they are always sophisticated, and never too blingy…
