How excellent is it to see a home full of colour? Is it just me? Can’t be. Colour has such wonderful, uplifting, and transformational powers. Actually, writing this just made me think of Sex and The City: The Movie, when Samantha says – “I can’t colour enough. I would colour all day every day If I had my way, I would use every crayon in my box.” Hahahaha! Samantha was of-course talking about something else, but this actually is the way I feel about colour. I love it. It makes my heart sing. Looking at the images of this lovely French abode makes me feel the same way.

This home belongs to the designer & illustrator Caroline Gomez, who shares the space with her husband and their young daughter. The house is located in a former jukebox and pinball repair shop built in the 30′s. What I love the most about this space is the way colour was used strategically to highlight areas, create little events and delineate zones within the larger space. Such a fantastic way to to establish a mood in a room and tell a little story. Despite the fact there are a number of colours at play, the overall palette is beautifully balanced with expansive plains of white, natural materials, pure forms and clever furniture choices.
