Thin Black Lines Revisited // Wardrobes & Clothes Racks.

    19th April

And so my obsession with thin black lines continues. Much to my delight, I’ve been noticing a number of wardrobes, clothes racks & valets that have been stripped back to a single black line. These minimalist design pieces are like traces of sketches brought to life. Devoid of any superfluous decoration, they play with our perceptions of the second and the third dimension…

Mesmerising Mirrored Mood // Interiors & Art Installations.

    12th April

Today’s post sings praises to mirrored interiors and art installations. I’m a huge fan of mirrors in interiors. Enormous, single piece mirrors that extend floor to ceiling. No joints please, thanks very much. Mirrors are the ultimate chameleons. They are slick, sharp, and they just work…

Yellowtrace Promotion // Hanging Out in Alpha60 Autumn/Winter 2013 Collection.

    25th March

When I saw Alpha60 Autumn/ Winter 2013 collection, I was instantly compelled to turn a few of my favourite looks into ‘reverse mood-boards’. My eyes were immediately drawn to the beautiful colours – deep plums, royal blues, forest greens, pale creams and blacks. I was also really taken by the garments’ clean architectural shapes with a twist. So I began my process of gathering the images and channelling the Alpha60 vibe. The result is a series of mood boards that reinterpret Alpha60 signature aesthetic, and extend it to a complete design lifestyle – from architecture, interiors, furniture, lighting, graphics, art, even cars… Just like the name suggests – this is what it looks like when Alpha60 hangs out with Yellowtrace!

    22nd March

Mesmerising Mirrored Mood is dedicated to reflective buildings that seamlessly blend into their immediate surroundings. In doing so – they almost disappear, and their boundaries become infinite. Mirrors posses special magical powers. They can dramatically transform a built space, where a building or an interior takes on the characteristics of whatever is around – the space either expands or dissolves, and our experience and perception is shifted…
