Completed in 2009, Restaurant 560 occupies 80sqm of an old building’s street level in Lisbon’s city centre. The interior is divided into three disctinct zones – the shopfront and entry, dining space in the middle and a service area at the back. What I really love about this interior is the way the entry is celebrated and treated as it’s own event – there is a definite transition from the street, through the entry, into the restaurant. I also love the unusual mix of marble, raw OSB, and super beautiful, ornate and glossy wall tiles which provide an arresting visual crescendo at the end of the space.
