3D Walls Made From Timber Dowels and Paper Pipes.

    7th November

Ok, I admit it – this is a slightly random posts. But then again, I’ve had a few of those in the past. I recently spotted a couple of thing which reminded me of each-other so I decided to include them in a “this-goes-with-that” type posts. Both examples manage to transform commonplace materials (timber dowels and paper pies) into dramatic design installations…

Very Visual Vases // Design Trend.

    3rd September

I remember a time when all vases used to look the same. Or pretty similar at least. You could almost predict their shape. Round or cylindrical – straight up and down, tapered at the top, or maybe flaring out, possibly faceted if the designer went a bit nuts smoking the silly stuff. Yeah, those crazy wacked-out designers man. As for the materials – there was glass, or crystal for fancy-pants folk with the taste for finer things in life, clay, porcelain and that type of jazz…

    Mirror Mirror On The Wall.

    20th August

Lately I’ve been noticing interesting mirrors around this World Wide Web of ours. Seems to me that mirror design is going though a bit of a renaissance. I decided to do a little roundup of some of the most interesting examples I’ve seen recently…

It turns out that the time has come for the golden sheen to enjoy it’s well deserved 5 minutes in the sun.

I must admit, I was never really a big fan of gold for the longest time (I know, we all make mistakes), but my palettes these days are all about hints of this lovely shiny shade. Perhaps this is because we are collectively getting much better at using golds and mixing them with nudes, greys, charcoals and navy, to ensure they are always sophisticated, and never too blingy…

Show Us Your Bits // Lighting Trend.

    5th June

In the last little while I’ve been noticing a trend with pendant light designs which allow end-users to add personal touches by displaying their own “bits”. These lights make me question whether we ought to be noticing the object or its contents.

Here’s a roundup of some of my favourite examples…
