    Winter Illuminations at Nabana no Sato, Japan… And it’s time for a little break!

    …And so I leave you with these stunning images of the mesmerising light tunnel in Japan called ‘Winter Illuminations’. This event takes place each year at Nabana no Sato, a botanical garden on the island of Nagashima in Kuwana. This light show uses millions of sparkling LEDs, and it runs from early November through to end of March. Isn’t it just incredible? I thought it was the most fitting way to mark this silly season, and wish you a sparkling New Year and Extremely Happy Holidays…

    Between March 2010 and February 2011, Helsinki based artist Mikko Kuorinki formed one new text on the wall of Kiasma museum each week. Using removable letters and mouldings, Mikko assembled a number of intersting, inspiring, and moving words and quotes by various novelists, philosopher, poets and thinkers.     The Re-Birth of Palazzo di Vigonovo (Campiello) // Venice, Italy.

    This project is such a wonderful example of what is possible when history, art, architecture and technology unite to create a single grand gesture. After three full years of renovation, Campiello is given a new lease on life, featuring a magnificent Corten steel facade created by art historian Philippe Daverio and artist Giorgio Milani, overseen by the local architecture firm 3ndy Studio. The intricate pattern of the facade features a meticulously hand drawn pattern by Milani which references the buildings history dating back to 17th century…
