    Little Trace Of // Tom Fereday.

    Tom Fereday is an industrial designer based in Sydney. His design studio, Fereday Design, is multi-disciplinary, creating furniture, products and spaces. Fereday Design is all about innovation and products that use the environment as “a positive constraint to guide intelligent and thoughtful design outcomes.” His dedication to an understanding of materials and manufacturing process has recently won him the 2014 Space + Moooi Design Residency. Today he’s here to answer a few questions about his work and upcoming adventures in The Netherlands.



    A Brave New World // The Launch of Own World’s Sydney Showroom.

    Allow me to introduce you to our very dear friends, and Australia’s newest player in the A&D specifier market – Own World. With a motto of being personal, responsive and flexible, Own World believes the difference in it’s approach will often be felt, rather than seen. But don’t be fooled – their strong visual direction should not be underestimated. Aiming to invigorate the industry with new furniture and design solutions, Own World’s first showroom launched earlier this year on Stanley Street in Sydney’s Darlinghurst.



    Introducing Valcucine Italian Kitchens at Rogerseller.

    On March 1st 2014 our friends at Rogerseller officially launched Valcucine kitchens into the Australian market, and I’m here to tell you all about it. Hooray! Valcucine have been designing and manufacturing products for 30 years, based on the four fundamental rules of eco-compatibility. This consistent focus has elevated Valcucine to be one of the most respected and sought-after kitchen manufacturers in the world. Not only this, the ‘New Logica’ is a revolutionary system designed to improve the interaction of Man with the Kitchen. In other words, this is the most ergonomically designed kitchen system. Ever.

    Earlier last year at Salone Internazionale del Mobile, e15 unveiled an exceptional collection of re-editions by renowned modernist German architect and designer Ferdinand Kramer®. Working closely with Kramer’s family and the archives, twelve iconic pieces from various creative periods were showcased from 1925 to 1959. The good news is that the two coffee tables from this stunning collection are now available in Australia exclusively through Living Edge…



    Space + Moooi 2014 Design Residency // Call For Entries.

    Dearest Friends, I couldn’t possibly be any more excited about my job than I am today. Except maybe if I’d just won a $100M Lotto jackpot. But that’s another story. Our friends at Space Furniture have announced their 2014 Design Residency in partnership with our friends at Moooi. So many friends, so little time! No, but seriously guys, this is VERY cool, so please read on. The Residency is open to Australian designers who have a body of work that satisfies the requirements of the design brief. The successful applicant will spend eight weeks at the Moooi headquarters in Breda, the Netherlands, working under the guidance of two of the world’s leading design thinkers…
