Comme des Garçons “White Drama”, Cristóbal Balenciaga “Fashion Collector” & PGL by Pigalle // Les Docs, Paris.

    12th November

Rei Kawakubo, the designer behind avant-garde Japanese fashion label Comme des Garçons, created an intriguing exhibition of her spring/summer 2012 collection titled “White Drama”. The exhibition showcased monochrome pieces from the collection, which magnified the four stages of life – birth, marriage, death, and transcendence. Kawakubo conceptualised the installation design and styled it in the same way as they appeared in her runway show – in giant clear plastic bubbles…

Around Paris During The Design Week // 2012.

    6th November

I was going through some of my Paris photos the other day, and I realised there were still a few gems I never got to tell you about. So I decided to bundle them all together in a post which is mostly related to Paris Design Week, but also the awesomeness of Paris in general (as a couple of the things I am sharing with you here are not related to the design week). 15th October

As promised in my posts last week, I’m really excited to share with you my personal highlight from MAISON&OBJET held in Paris in September. MINIMUM, curated by Elizabeth Leriche, examined the idea of “revealing the essence of Beauty in all its purity.” This exhibition resonated with me on several levels – I rediscovered a number of old favourites, and added a few new ones to the list…

    9th October

As promised, I’m back with with Part 2 of the highlights from my recent visit to MAISON&OBJET in Paris. Today’s post is a small collection of my favourite moments related to products, home-wares, accessories, sets, styling, other bits and pieces… Some are crafty, others more closely related to design, and all of them caught my attention in one way or another. So here goes…
