Human Paintings // Alexa Meade & Sheila Vand.
18th December
Regular and long standing readers of this blog may recall my post about Painted People by Alexa Meade almost two years ago in which I reckoned I died from the awesomeness of Alexa’s work. Anyway, turns out I lived just so I could bring you an update on what this young lady’s been up to in the last couple of years…
Little Trace Of // Laith McGregor.
15th August
I’ve been a huge fan of Australian artist Laith McGregor ever since I featured his work back in the early days of this blog. Laith’s engaging Biro drawings elevate the status of the humble Bic pen, and his beautiful mixed media works and oil-paintings are equally as mesmerising. Unfinished Portraits by Colin Chillag.
21st May
Colin Chillag is a New York based artist who paints these incredible “unfinished” photorealistic portraits of the elderly. Each one of his pieces looks as though Colin decided to step out to lunch or out to the pub before returning to finish the work. However, instead of perfecting them, Chillag allows viewers a glimpse into his process by deliberately revealing all the various steps taken to create his pieces – from pencil sketching, to mixing various colour shade to achieve the final portrait…
