The work of Paris-based artist Philippe Soussan is not easily described. His pieces sit at the intersection of photography, sculpture and installation art. They are avant-garde and surreal. A playful game of ideas.

No doubt one could get very philosophical about these pieces, but that’s just not my style. Besides, writing intelligently requires too many brain cells and I’m a bit short on those of late. (Some call it baby brain, I call it exhausted!) What I will say though is that I really love the way Soussan uses mundane and traditional “still life” objects – a chair, a table, an apple – and takes them to a whole new level. A perfect play between reality and mind games. Genius!
