MAM Originals opened doors to it’s first physical store in Barcelona‘s Gothic Quarter in June 2016. MAM wooden watches and accessories could already be found on-line and in other stores around Spain, but now the brand has a space just for them. And not just any space…

“We wanted to create a special environment in keeping with the spirit of the brand, a ‘home’ for our products,” explains MAM. They invited one of Barcelona’s leading interior designers, Diego Ramos, along with Yellowtrace-favourite Guillermo Santomà – one of the vanguards of today’s design scene; and their proposal has hit the spot.

Santomà and Ramos’ concept sought out to capture the start from the Creation of our planet with the blue that envelops us – the colour of the Mediterranean Sea, of the sky, even of the planetary space. The elements that have been used are totally related to the blue with the sea and the sky – the stone is the natural element, while the metal represents the machinery and new technology. Their conceptual approach has resulted in a store with a groundbreaking, singular aesthetic. Respect!

Galvanised steel, rocks, blue paint and orange glass screen capture the feeling of dipping into the sea or getting lost in the sky and moving to a place where you connect with nature. So crazy, yet so damn good.
