    Tresse Rug Collection by Samuel Accoceberry.

    Parisian designer Samuel Accoceberry has designed a collection of carpets for Chevalier Edition which was launched earlier this year at Maison & Objet in Paris. The carpets are created using the authentic age old tradition and technique of hand-knotting. The concept for the collection was to celebrate the spirit of plaiting and hand made craft. I really love Samuel’s use of strong graphic elements with soft shapes and different shades of colour, which really accentuate the plaiting effect…



    10th Anniversary Jewellery by Atelier XJC.

    If you are a regular reader of yellowtrace (high five to you – woohoo!) you would know that I don’t usually post about fashiony wearable type stuff. Alas, today I decided to break one of my own rules and post about this experimental jewellery by Swiss luxury design firm Atelier XJC. These incredibly intricate pieces, which reference feathers, scales and large delicate ruffs, were commissioned by Atelier XJC for their 10th birthday, resulting in a collection of cuffs, collars, a hat, a bag plus a few other sculptural pieces.

    Now… that’s all well and good, super amazing and beautiful, etc, etc. But what I am really intrigued about is the awesome photography by Milo Keller & Julien Gallico, and even more so – the exceptionally intriguing choice of models…



    Minimalist Clocks.

    Here are three examples of interesting minimalist clocks I came across recently. (By the way, you probably don’t want to know about the spelling mistake I originally made with the title of this post. Hahahaha! True story. Thanks goodness I caught it on time…)

    New York based Sit and Read and Still + Co. put their clever heads together and came up with this magnificent concept for rug sling chairs.     Cement Tiles by Claesson Koivisto Rune for Marrakech Design.

    The extremely awesome Stockholm based studio Claesson Koivisto Rune designed these stunning cement floor tiles for Marrakech Design, which were released at the recent Stockholm Furniture Fair. The CKR trio travelled to Morocco to gain an understanding of the local tile making industry and applied their learnings when creating these contemporary tiles which use traditional materials and old production process, blending it seamlessly with their signature Scandinavian aesthetic…
