While browsing my beloved local bookshop recently, I came across this hilarious little book that fit the Design Free Thursday profile so perfectly. So here we are.

It all started one drunken night (as many worth while things do). London artist Mr Bingo tweeted “I will send an offensive postcard to the first person to reply to this message”. Fifty people responded in the first minute, and a stranger by the name of Jonathan Hopkins was chosen. The postcard Mr Bingo sent to him said “F*ck you Jonathan, f*ck you and f*ck your sh*t legs”. Pretty harsh stuff. As people continued to respond to the concept, Mr Bingo started offering a service on his website where he invited strangers to pay him in return for offensive postcards addressed to whomever they liked. Now with over 400 ‘Hate Mails’ under his belt, his book was released to the public.

You can watch a little video about Hate Mail project here, or visit Mr Bingo’s online shop to see more. (Note that all postcards are sold out at time of writing this post – however I suggest you click through if this sort of humour is your speed. You are guaranteed to have an extra laugh reading through his brief FAQ…)

Totes inappropes.
