“We are fascinated by the beginning of things; the beginning of the world, our primordial history, the DNA of the universe, the elements and fragments that come together to form a body or a painting.” – Atelier Biagetti.

Milan based Atelier Biagetti was founded in 2003 by Alberto Biagetti. Since then, this multidisciplinary studio has undertaken projects in the areas of art, design, fashion, installation, digital design and even architecture. I am particularly enamoured by their Post Design and Lighting Elements collection which I wanted to share with you today.

Post Design collection (above) features a series of colour dipped sofas and lounge chairs, limited edition hand-knotted wool rugs that depict vast landscapes as seen from satellites, tables and cabinets with impossibly thin brass bases (you had me at ‘thin brass’), digitally printed laminate surfaces portraying the sky above the Biagetti Studio, and red gloss lacquer internals for an unexpected super-lush touch. Love!

Lighting Elements is a limited edition of lights in opaque brass which has been masterfully welded and handcrafted by Italian artisans. There are three models in total (with fabulous names I might add) – Tropical Heatwave, Black Diamond Bay and Mass Production. All lights feature a bright red fabric cord, retro-style Edison lightbulbs, and either a square button brass floor switch or a little chain on/off switch.

Beautiful.
