Design Free Thursday // Bicycle Taxidermy by Regan Appleton.

Bicycle Taxidermy is an ongoing project by London-based designer, Regan Appleton, who preserves hipster cyclists’ retired handlebars. I must admit, at first I thought these looked a bit like trophies for sick drivers who’d run over cyclists, but I let out a huge sigh of relief when I realised I was wrong!
Appleton was at first looking to create a couple of mementos of his father’s prized road bikes, and the business grew from there. Such a fun, clever and cheeky idea, although there ain’t not way you’d see these babies hanging on the walls of my place. Perhaps I’ll keep them in mind for the next time I’m designing a bicycle club. You know, cause those sorts of jobs come up all the time…
