• Petra Bindel Photography.

    31st July

So many good looking, perfectly styled moments, no? With delicious and evocative images like these, words really aren’t necessary. All I really need to tell you is that these photos are captured by the talented Swedish photographer Petra Bindel. After working with everything from naked golf players to flying shoes for many years, Petra finally landed in the world of interiors where she found her groove…

Dynamic VHS Tape Installations by Zilvinas Kempinas.

    30th July

Well isn’t this just a little bit nuts? I am in awe of Lithuanian-born and New York-based artist Žilvinas Kempinas. His installation “Tube” (2008) involved a whole bunch of VHS tapes (remember those?) and electric fans. How the hell did he manage to get all the pieces of tape so perfectly stretched and equally spaced? The OCD part of me is most impressed! This installation has an incredibly delicate and etherial quality – the tape transforms from thin black lines to virtually disappearing in front of your eyes…

Capri Suite by ZETASTUDIO Architects // Capri, Italy.

    27th July

Capri Suite is a charming boutique hotel located in the center of Anacapri on the Italian island of Capri. Refurbished by the local firm ZETASTUDIO Architects, the building originally formed part of the St. Micheles’ convent built in the XVII century. There is a certain formality and grandeur that belongs to the heritage fabric of the building. The designers have successfully merged this aspect with a sense of irreverent playfulness by introducing vibrant pops of colour, bold patterns and eclectic furniture pieces…

Design Free Thursday // Cecilia Paredes Disappears Into Paintings.

    26th July

How nuts is this? Peruvian artist Cecilia Paredes loves messing with our minds and performing disappearing acts in front of our eyes. Acting as both the photographer and the subject with cunning help of her assistants, she creates photo performance based works by blending herself into her own bold and colourful paintings using make-up and body paint…

    Superstar Illustrator Olaf Hajek.

    25th July

Berlin based Olaf Hajek is one of the world’s most successful and well-known illustrative artists. His work is regularly featured in leading publications around the world, from New York Times to Rolling Stone, in advertisements for major international brands, and even on stamps for Great Britain’s Royal Mail…

    Christian Dior Runway // Autumn/Winter 2012.

    24th July

As if seeing couture in Paris isn’t privilege enough, those that attended this year’s Dior Autumn/Winter runway were spoilt with one über hot interior. Raf Simons debuted his first collection as the new Creative Director of Dior in a mansion engulfed in fresh cut flowers. Oh Raf Simons, you do know how to make a splash. Both the collection and the interior reference Christian Dior’s passion for flowers and his iconic “Flower Woman” silhouette of 1947 – a silhouette influenced by the architecture of the flower…
