Chanel Runway for Spring Summer 2012 by Zaha Hadid.
31st October
Blow me down with a feather why dontcha? First of all, I cannot friggin believe I am blogging about Zaha Hadid’s work, but not just that – Zaha’s work I really like. What the…? Well, stranger things have happened I guess. For the recent Paris Fashion Week 2012 Chanel runway show, Karl Lagerfeld commissioned Hadid to design the catwalk with a nautical concept and transform the Grand Palais for women’s Spring/Summer collection. How incredible, no? This is what happens when designers hit that sweet spot of inspiration, magic and unlimited budget.
Isn’t it just crazy to think all that effort went into a 15 minutes show? And I’m not talking about the set only. How about all the clothes (the most divine, exquisite, lust-worthy clothes… *le sigh*), the shoes, the bags and the make-up. It’s exhausting! I was …
Maison Martin Margiela in Beijing.
28th October
My love of Maison Martin Margiela is reasonably well documented. Various initiatives of this cult Belgian fashion designer have graced the pages of yellowtrace a number of times. So why stop now, right? Right.
Today I wanted to share with you my very latest find – MMM’s newest and largest boutique located at Sanlitun Village in Beijing. Not bad, huh? Even if this interior may be slightly “Googlesque corporate workplacey” with that completely-useless-and-unusable-yet-slightly-fabulous-and-highly-dramatic stainless steel slide in the top image. The store aesthetic beautifully extends the MMM brand and it’s signature edgy and understated style – there is a lot of white on white (on white) mixed with industrial lighting, concrete, stainless steel, and digitally printed wallpaper which merges the reality and trompe-l’oeil effect. Yes!

Barcelona Travel Guide | Places To Stay.
25th October
¡Hola!
Man, these Travel Tuesdays sure come around really quickly, don’t they? Anyway, here we are with the third post in the Barcelona Travel Guide Series. Today I would like to tell you about some of the fantastic places to stay. Not only is Barcelona a super sexy and beautiful bombshell of a city, she is also brimming with great hotels and fantastic apartments to chose from. But the best part is this – accommodation in Barcelona is quite reasonably priced in comparison to most other European cities. Giddy up!
Again, I would like to remind you to leave any of your own tips and recommendations in the comments section of the post – I always love hearing what you guys have to say.
Tenka Gammelgaard Studio.
24th October
Happy Monday everybody. I wanted to kick off the week with this incredible studio space which belongs to Danish artist Tenka Gammelgaard. Isn’t it just to die for? In fact, those of you that follow yellowtrace on Facebook may recall that I posted some of these images in the visual diary album a little while ago. When recently I spotted it again over on Miss Moss, I just knew I had to share it on the blog for everyone to see.
I love Tenka’s commitment to stripes and monochromatic palette in everything she does – the space she inhabits, the art she creates, countless objects she surrounds herself with and even the clothes she wears. She even bothers to paint her brushes with black & white stripes! Amaze…
