Holy guacamole! I am in awe of Tilda Swinton in this captivating fashion editorial photographed by Tim Walker and styled by Jerry Stafford for Wmagazine. As though Tilda wasn’t already fiercely avant-garde, visually arresting and other-worldly, this editorial puts her in a whole new league of alien-like androgyny!

In her interview for Wmagazine, Tilda talks about her father, a former commander of the Queen’s Household Division in London, and her fascination with his military attire. “From childhood, I remember more about his black patent, gold livery, scarlet-striped legs, and medal ribbons than I do of my mother’s evening dresses,” she says. “I would rather be handsome, as he is, for an hour than pretty for a week.”

I am constantly impressed and inspired by her as an actress. She is so amazingly talented and has such a refreshing lack of vanity. She is a true artist.
