• Fashion Photography vs Amazing Interiors | Take 2.

    29th July

Ok. So do you remember that I blogged about Fashion Photography and Amazing Interiors a few months ago (8 month to be exact). Yes, well… I really loved that post, as did you guys (according to the people who commented and/ or e-maild me about it) so I decided to do another round. What can I say, I can’t stop collecting images. It’s a real problem!

Anyway, even if you aren’t one of the people who vocally acknowledged that they loved the previous post, you cannot possibly complain about this second series. Why? Because, not only do you get to enjoy stunning interiors, the ladies also get to feast their eyes on brilliant clothes and shoes, while the boys get to perve on mega hot babes. Everyone’s a winner on yellowtrace baby!

Design Free Thursday | Where Children Sleep.

    28th July

Photographer James Mollison had a idea for a book – with a title “Bedrooms” in his mind, he set out on a five year assignment crisscrossing the world and photographing kids where they live. He quickly discovered that every child’s situation didn’t match his own memory of his childhood bedroom. ”I realised that my experience of having a ‘bedroom’ simply doesn’t apply to so many kids,” writes James in the book’s introduction.

Pairing children’s portraits with a picture of their living space creates a moving and often shocking result. I hope that these photographs encourage us all to be more aware of the major inequalities on our planet.

Vitra Miniatures Chandelier | Paola Pivi.

    27th July

The ‘Nice Ball’ (funny name) by Italian artist Paola Pivi, is a chandelier containing 80 iconic design furniture miniatures which are attached to an aluminum structure. Each light measures approximately 700 mm (28″) in diameter, made from a unique selection of the miniature iconic seats from the Vitra Design Museum. When lit, the light bulb within the sphere casts dazzling shadows on walls, allowing the viewer to experience these iconic designs in exaggerated 2D and 3D format…

There Are No Circles | Lionel Estève.

    26th July

Delicately beautiful art installation titled ‘There are no circles’ recently took place at Fondation D’Enerprise Hermès in Brussels. It was created by French-born Brussels-based artist Lionel Estève, who worked with minimal materials and small items such as thread and plastic beads, which he transforms into a magical universe of gem stones and constellations of color…

Home of Maurizio Zucchi | Italy.

    25th July

Wowee! Extreme love alert. This amazing place belongs to Maurizio Zucchi of Italian lifestyle company Zucchi. Concrete floors and white walls provide a perfect backdrop for the rich colours of the plants and vintage pieces of furniture, which infuse this interior with so much character and style.

I love the way all the furniture hangs so low in comparison to the vast ceiling height, which really emphasizes the impressive volume of this space. I am also in love with the refined geometry patterns created by thin black lines in the furniture and lighting, the warmth of rich timbers and terra-cotta tones tones set against the cool palette of concrete and white. Ahhh… Perfection…
