• Colour Blocking.

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the last little while (in which case, sorry to disturb you… as you were, soldier) you would have definitely noticed the good ol’ colour blocking trend in all aspects of design – from fashion, architecture, interiors, graphics, products etc. Milan Design Week this year further reinforced that colour blocking is alive and well, and it’s here to stay. How fabulous, as this suits me to a ‘T’, being a little colour lover that I am.

There is something so wonderful about colour. A lot of colour. In bright blocks. Don’t you think? Colour is happy, uplifting and empowering. It suggests an optimistic attitude and an upbeat approach to living. How wonderful, no? This is exactly how I want to live my life. Surrounded and saturated in happy colours.

On that note – have a wonderful and colourful weekend yellowtrace friends.

I am LOVING this new movement (trend? whatever you would call it) for colour blocking. I absolutely love colour, and especially brights! I used to wear so many colourful things but over the years, my wardrobe (and probably house too) has become plainer and duller. No more! :-)

These are such beautiful collages! Colour blocking will never get old. I love bold colour too. I think you may have inspired me to should create a lamp collection using colour blocking!
