This gorgeous side table is seriously making me go weak in the knees. Bell-Table was designed by Sebastian Herkner in 2009 and it was launched by ABR. Barcelona at the ICFF New York this week.

The table is made up of two different materials – brass and mouth-blown tinted glass. The play with mass and transparency, the lightweight and fragile glass base contrasting the solid brass top element is pure genius. This table has won a reddot design award for 2010, which is the largest and most renowned design competition in the world.

Sebastian Herkner has his own studio, where he designs lamps and furniture, amongst other things. His product designs combine current trends and familiar forms, challenge these forms, and reveal his own creative and playful approaches to materials, craft and technology. Sebastian’s work is shown at a variety of fairs and exhibitions, including Milan’s SaloneSatellite, which is where I got to met him.

Below are some images showing the process of creating the Bell-Table.

    Extreme love.

the lamp, yes, but how about the filing cabinets in the beginning?! i loved those, inspired to give our vintage one a bit of a spruce up.

This Bell table is really stunning! Due to a collage of brass and mouthblown tinted glass it has an interesting appearance and distictive identity. Love it!
