Shark Island, Sydney.
I really love this time of year. All the parties and celebrations, catching up with friends and colleagues, great weather, swims, beach, BBQs, cold beers. It’s brilliant. Except my liver isn’t too happy with me. But that’s something to worry about in January.
Yesterday was my last day at work for the year – hooray! We had our work Christmas Party on Shark Island in Sydney Harbour. And what a way to end the year. Such a glorious day for it, and the island itself is truly a little piece of heaven. It is impossible not to feel blissed out and super relaxed when you are there.
You will be happy to know that the island received its name because of its shape and not its wildlife. Phew. There are a couple of beaches great for snorkeling, although you better be careful not to cut yourself on the rocks and shells as many of my colleagues did. It’s also a great place for a picnic with quite a few tables dotted around the island surrounded by shady trees with spectacular views down the harbour to the Bridge and the Opera House.
